The Desertt

this isnt exactly a desert more of a really hot canyon. but yet it luckily has a small river flowing through it. some wild horses go here.

Shadow walked through the canyon beside the river, takeing a drink whenever he felt like it.

Sapphire shook her mane as she walks away from the cliffs edge, neighing for her daughters Nina and Fire to follow her. Lets go Nina and fire you both need to keep up. she sighs and trots at an easy pace where her two daughters were able to catch up.

Shadow continued with an easy trott.

Nina runs off with Fire. Nina fire! get back here now she goes after them, get back here you two or you will be grounded until further notice! they dont listen in fact she heard nina say "RUN!"

Shadow heard a mare yell something about being grounded and saw two foals running, he decided to help and he ran at full speed until he got a little ahead of the foals then turned and stopped in front of them.

Nina and Fire slide to a halt Nina sliding right into the mustang i slow to a trot. Thanks, Nina Fire you are both grounded and will not get play time for a whole month! Nina and fire look at her like she is the bad guy. she shakes her mane, "im Sapphire thats Nina and Fire."

"Don't mention it...I'm Shadow.." he scrapes the ground with his hoove.

she watches the moves of the Stallion, she knew he could be dangerous especially since she has foals. she backs up slightly. nice name Shadow, wheres your herd...?

"I don't know, they ran off without me..." Shadow shifted his weight back and forth on his hooves

oh, well then that makes two of us... she chuckles slightly Nina and Fire look at the stallion and walk around him curious. and they say Whose this mommy?"

Shadow watches as the foals walk around him, makeing him a little nervous.

Girls leave him be, how would you like it if i was circling you? "we wouldnt like it..." well then why do it to him? go play over their for a bit and dont you even think of running off girls!

Shadow smiled "Their always getting themselves into trouble I see..".

Yes they are very hard to take care of since the herd left. but i manage... with some difficulties she chuckles lightly then looks at them. theen back at shadow. how long since you have been a lone horse?
Nina- "MOM Fire bit me!"
fire- NO you bit me!
me- GIRLS PLEASE KNOCK IT OFF! BEHAVE

Shadow scraped the ground one more "About a year now.."

Sapphire shakes her mane before replying "oh, im sorry, my herd left right after i had those two. " she sighs slightly then looks down then back at shadow she paws the ground with her medium sized hooves.

"Why?" was all Shadow asked. before he began to scrape the ground again.

"because i wasnt suppose to have foals and they abandoned me, about two months because i had them a little under two months ago." her ears go back sadness over whelming her. "my brother was the one who had abandoned me..." she turns seeing Nina hit Fire with her hoove. NINA BE NICE TO YOUR SISTER

Shadow dipped his head 'I'm sorry to hear that.."

Its fine i now realize loosing a herd only makes you stronger but gaining a herd makes you strongest. she turns to shadow looking him in the eye with truthfulness.

Shadow looked up with thought and said "I guess it does, it's nice not haveing to look over your shoulder every five minutes fearing a cougar.

in her thoughts she wondered would this stallion she just met and herself with her foals later decide to be in a herd? she shakes her head as the thought leaves. plus its easier to take care of young ones such as them they seem to get into trouble every few moments she chuckles lightly. then sighs as thoughts flood her head.

Shadow smiled, "Do you want to go on a walk, I've just entered this area and am anxious about what it holds..."

she smiles, sure i would love to. she soon starts to walk. then Nina and Fire come running toward saying "mommy dont forget about us!"
